If anyone asks me what to do about an idea of writing a book that they have kept in the pipeline for 8 long years, a frank (and probably rude too, sorry) answer will be:
If writing it was just a momentary mood then you should probably spare some paper for the others.
However, I shall share my experience now and try to inspire you for putting sincere efforts into writing your book.
Take a look below.
I met with a serious high-speed road accident to be pushed back in my career by over 4 years. However, it also generated subtle inspiration for the writer in me to start chronicling my life. As I did so, my mother suggested that I can use the wings of my imagination and convert it into a full-fledged novel.
I took over 8 years to write, rewrite and edit my book to my satisfaction.
This is the previous edition of my book:
I didn't design it all by myself but I used Kindle Direct Publishing's cover creator tool.
This is an older version of my novel's eBook:
This is an even older version of my novel's eBook:
This is the first cover idea for my novel's eBook:
I have ultimately finalized a suitable cover for my novel:
The protagonist is depicted as wearing a tuxedo and posing seriously like a professional. He ultimately works for the Indian Oil at the Mathura Refinery's alternative fuels research department.
The six girls in front of the central protagonist are his consecutive love interests.
Although he is serious for each of his girlfriends, one at a time, he gets married to the 6th girl in his life, whom he comes into a romantic relationship after meeting with a life-threatening road accident.
The one at the bottom is an assassin that kills him to exact revenge as a vendetta for foiling their hijack attempt on a Lufthansa ✈ flight to Hamburg.
An outline of the Airbus A380 and the date it is attempted to be hijacked are both located at the top.
The road signifies moving on with changing times.
As a matter of fact, I started writing it as therapy after an unfortunate road accident that pushed me into a deep 23 days’ comatose state but now it’s a passion that I am pursuing as a minor profession.
Remember that I wrote the essential story from 2010 to 2012. Mailed the initial manuscript to a popular author seeking some guidance.
After Rupa Publications, Penguin et al. kept rejecting my manuscript, I was very disappointed.
However, a small self-publisher told me that with its protagonist dying at the end, and a constant talk in an undertone about the caste-based reservation system, no major publisher will ever dare to publish my book since I am a fresher.
I kept improving my manuscript, published it first on Kindle Direct Publishing as a Kindle eBook on August 23, 2014. I converted it into a hardcopy novel on December 25, 2018. Today, it's an ideally readable manuscript. The Indian publishers will probably forever stay afraid of publishing anything that criticizes the long-drawn system.
My suggestion to motivate you is, never stop dreaming and always put your first step towards achieving it at the earliest.
Hoping to Inspire,

P.S.: As I am a seasoned poet on Hello Poetry, I also put some original poetic pieces here and there in the story of my novel. Some of them are intended as situational songs by the protagonist.
