Hello,
Is humanity headed for immortality? I shall tell you about my own experience from around 11 years ago. My answer is, yes, probably immortal humans already exist.
I had met with a life-threatening bike accident on the GT Road near Panipat city. I was in a 23-days' comatose state and all the doctors were uncertain of my survival and two were hopeless about my survival.
After waking up from the 23 days' deep comatose sleep, I was subjected to excruciatingly painful physiotherapy for more than 3 months from July to September 2010 but I had no clear memory of the ordeal because I had met with the high-speed and thereby life-threatening road accident.
Although I had to sustain 12 more months of physiotherapy, they were quite less painful as compared to the first 3 months. The injuries induced a condition called anterograde amnesia in my mind due to severe contusions from the intracranial injuries. The friendly physiotherapist later told me that due to the after-effects of the coma-inducing bike accident my body showed traces of Rigour Mortis, which sets in the dead bodies of people sometime after their body dies. I was in a
So, in a way, this anterograde amnesia was a blessing in disguise because my parents tell me of how I used to be terrorized every time the doorbell rang and begged for mercy. However, I don't remember any of it. Now I realize that those sessions of initially painful physiotherapy were extremely crucial to help me survive like a normal person.
After an accident, I observe its anniversary with the fervour of a survivor who preaches road safety to his friends and strangers on the road.
At 3:30 PM on the 7th of May 2010, I was involved in a life-threatening and coma-inducing bike accident on the GT Road National Highway near the city of Panipat, due to the fault of another biker who veered to his right-hand side right when I was overtaking him (India is a left-hand drive nation). He too fell but is said to have run away after seeing my state.
My helmet was torn due to the accident's impact, but it still helped me survive the accident.
After the accident, I used to endure really painful physiotherapy every day but used to forget it due to the Anterograde Amnesia condition. This Anterograde Amnesia condition is a challenge to human intellect and has delayed my shine time by more than half a decade.
At that time, I was pursuing my B.Tech in Biotechnology Engineering. I still completed it despite that accident. I am very happy that I survived to tell the inspirational story. I have even written some novels.
These days, I am undertaking a doctor of philosophy (PhD) course in Animal Biotechnology at the ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, India.
I even survived COVID19. My positive RTPCR test came with a Ct value of 15. It came negative within 2 weeks.
So, immortal or not, I am a hard-to-perish person.
